Synopsis "Los que volvieron (in Spanish)"

Los que volvieron se inspira en un hecho real. En 2003 un grupo de alumnos de una escuela santafesina llevó a cabo una investigación sobre dos NN enterrados en el cementerio local. El informe llegó a organismos de derechos humanos y, gracias al trabajo del equipo de Antropología Forense, se estableció la identidad de la joven pareja de militantes. Él era francés y ella, mexicana, ambos desaparecidos y asesinados por las fuerzas de represión durante la última dictadura militar. En esta novela, la autora da voz a los distintos protagonistas para reconstruir este fragmento de la historia más oscura de nuestro país.

Márgara Averbach was born in Buenos Aires in 1957. She holds a PhD in Literature and is a literary translator. She teaches American literature at the University of Buenos Aires and literary translation at Lenguas Vivas J. R. Fernández and Lenguas Vivas Spangenberg. She reviews books in the media and writes fiction for children, teens, and adults. She won the Conosur Translation Award from Unión Latina in 2007. In 1992, she won the First Prize in the Short Story Contest for Children by the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo with Blue Giraffe, Green Rhino, her first book; she was a finalist for the Emecé Award in 2003 with Waning Quarter and her novel One Block won the Cambaceres Award from the National Library in 2007. In 2011, she received the “Latin American Teacher of Children's and Young Adult Literature” award. In 2014, she earned the Konex Diploma for her work in youth literature between 2004 and 2014. She has won the ALIJA Outstanding Award three times: for her youth novel The Year of the Cow (2004), for her translation of Once There Was an Old Lady (2010), and for her children's novel Still Water (2016)
