She taught at three major universities - Tennessee, Alabama State, and the University of Georgia - before moving west, where she became cable manager for Glendale, Arizona, city government. She is the author of five books and lives in the Atlanta Metro area with her two dogs. She loves to knit and makes knitted dolls, which she sells at local arts festivals.
