Jo Nesbø was born in Oslo in 1960. Graduated in Economics, before jumping into literature he was a footballer, singer, songwriter, and stockbroker. Since he published The Bat in 1997, the first novel of the series starring detective Harry Hole, he has been acclaimed as the best Norwegian crime novelist and as a benchmark of the last great wave of noir genre authors worldwide.
