Synopsis "Micah's Goodbye"

Micah Manor seems to have everything going for him. He's the star quarterback, poised to receive a football scholarship. He has an abundance of friends, and from the outside, he appears to be happy. Sometimes, appearances are deceiving. All Micah really wants is acceptance that he fears he can never have. Micah has a secret, a secret he's been trying to hide for so long he has reached his breaking point.Matthew Manor is the pastor of one of the largest churches in the area. He tries to be a leader, as well as a role model for his son. While he tries to be kind and compassionate to everyone, he has not made it a secret that he disagrees with homosexuality in general.Jake Bradley has been Micah's best friend since kindergarten. As they grew up, their friendship had turned into more. The relationship that he has with Jake is one that Micah has gone to great lengths to hide from his parents, as he feels that this relationship would cause them to turn their backs on him completely. Despite how close they are, Jake is unaware of the massive amount of torment that has been churning in Micah's mind.Micah's feelings culminate in a suicide attempt that leaves him barely clinging to life. Those who love him can do nothing but wait and hope he recovers. Even in the uncertainty of his survival, Micah has caused a shift in the world around him as those closest to him must overcome their own obstacles, try to understand all of the things he was trying to hide, and come to terms with who he really is.
