Synopsis "Moving On"

Here’s the version I’d use for the Amazon description: What happens when the voice you trust least is the one inside your own head? Leo and Mia love each other. But love hasn’t been enough to silence the fear, resentment, expectations, and wounds they’ve carried into their marriage. In the safety of their therapist’s office—and in the unsettling landscape of dreams, memories, and the voices that follow them—the couple is forced to confront the pasts that shaped them. For Mia, it’s a childhood defined by faith, perfection, and the desperate need to be enough. For Leo, it’s abandonment, anger, and a lifelong fear that everyone he loves will eventually leave. Meanwhile, their therapist, Doc, is fighting a battle of her own as she struggles with grief and the question of how to help others move forward when part of her is still living in the past. Raw, intimate, darkly funny, and deeply human, Moving On explores marriage, trauma, grief, faith, fear, and the uncomfortable truth that sometimes moving forward means confronting the parts of ourselves we’ve spent a lifetime trying to escape. A four-actor play by Konnor Graber.
