Synopsis "On Learning"

Learning is what your brain does best. One step at a time, we learn how to help it grow.On Learning is a lyrical picture book that walks young readers through the true shape of learning - not the myth of instant talent, but the slow, honest process of trying, stumbling, and getting back up. Through the image of a small path emerging in the woods - widened one footstep at a time by everyone who walks it - children see that learning is a shared human journey. No one is left out; each of us adds to the path with our own effort. Along the way, readers discover a quieter truth: inside their own brain, tiny helpers called neurons are growing new pathways with every question, every try, every mistake. What feels difficult isn't failure - it's the roots of something real taking hold. Written for children ages 6-9 and the grown-ups who love them, On Learning is the second book in Justin Reid's picture book series from Living Pattern Press, following On Differences. It offers a road map - the "how" of the process - while gently reminding both children and adults that we are all still walking, still learning, still becoming more than yesterday.
