Perera left Cuba in the 60s and, once established in the United States, continued her production of stories and anthologies, highlighting titles like Tales of Adli and Luas. Additionally, Perera has been a finalist for the prestigious Planeta Award on three occasions, thus demonstrating her mastery in adult narrative as well
