Christina Rossetti (1830-1894) fue una de las voces más destacadas de la poesía victoriana en Inglaterra. Su obra se caracteriza por una sensibilidad profunda que explora temas como la espiritualidad, el sacrificio, el amor y la condición femenina en una sociedad marcada por convenciones rígidas. Su primer gran éxito fue Goblin Market and Other Poems (1862), libro que la consagró como una poeta singular por su fuerza imaginativa y el simbolismo de sus versos.
