Este volumen organiza los poemas que se encuentran en los libros publicados de Gabriela Mistral de un modo distinto a como se ha hecho hasta ahora. Es decir, no sigo el orden cronológico de sus libros publicados. Intento adentrarme en los poemas; en su modo de escribir el conocimiento al que accede; en el orden que le da a las obsesiones que la inquietan. Esta actitud ayuda a leer y a recorrer la materialidad poética intangible y a palpar la obscuridad luminosa de la cual sólo se desprende cuando escribe. Esto, por otra parte, obedece a una mirada personal que se afinca en el "buen abuso" del "quinto sentido", a veces nombrado como "intuición o gracia".

Gabriela Mistral (Vicuña, Elqui Valley 1889 - New York, 1957) Pseudonym of Lucila de María Godoy Alcayaga. She was a poet, diplomat, and teacher from an early age. The publication of Desolation brought Mistral international recognition and prestige, making her considered one of the greatest promises of Latin American literature and a leading figure in Chilean and Hispanic-American literature of the 20th century. In 1945, she won the Nobel Prize in Literature and, only six years later, the National Prize for Literature.
