Synopsis "Priests & Plowboys"

The backstory of America's founding like you've never heard it before...What price would you pay to stand for conscience? What does a world without freedom to speak, to think, to act look like?Step back in time...The Shining City on a Hill Historical SeriesBook One: Priests & PlowboysYoung linen weaver Christopher Wade of Dartford, England, is trapped in the whirlwind of Henry VIII's rapidly changing religious edicts. His father keeps a forbidden Tyndale Bible hidden in the family's cottage. Christopher longs to win the heart of Anne Cooper, whose father opposes church reform. Faced with stigma and opposition, Christopher must decide where he stands in a world of shifting sands, where holding the wrong opinion can be a matter of life or death. How far will he go to win Anne's affection? The Historical SeriesInspired by actual people and events, the Shining City on a Hill series takes place during a time of epic struggle for freedom of conscience, sparked by the Bible's translation from Latin to the common languages of everyday people. The story begins in England and France in the 1500s, and ends in the Massachusetts Bay area in the 1630s. After more than a century of violent persecution, religious dissidents laid the foundation for a civilization that would enshrine freedom of conscience into law, with other Western nations to follow. Will their legacy survive?
