Pues si no, mira, afortunado amigo, no arriesgues a los dados lo más querido ni lo pongas en peligro. Entonces realmente hay un peligro mucho más grande en la compra de aprendizajes que en la de los alimentos. Porque el alimento y la bebida comprados al traficante y al comerciante se pueden volcar en un recipiente, y antes de recirbirlos en el cuerpo cuando los bebes o los comes, colocarlos en tu casa para pedir consejo, solicitando la opinión de quienes saben lo que se debe comer y beber y lo que no, y dónde y cuándo, de manera que en la compra no hay un gran peligro. Pero lo que se aprende no se puede volcar en otro recipiente, sino que es forzoso, una vez pagado el precio, tras recibir la lección en el alma misma y haber aprendido, salir dañado o con provecho después del proceso (Protágoras, 313e-314b)

Plato (Athens, ca. 427 BC – ca. 347 BC) was a Greek philosopher, a disciple of Socrates and teacher of Aristotle, whose work deeply influenced Western philosophy. He founded the Academy of Athens, one of the first educational institutions of the ancient world. His philosophical legacy is conveyed through dialogues, a literary genre in which he developed ideas about ethics, politics, epistemology, and metaphysics.

Among his most recognized works are Apology of Socrates, Crito, and The Symposium, all written approximately between 399 and 385 BC, in addition to The Republic and Phaedo. Through the character of Socrates, Plato explores themes that remain central in philosophical thought. His influence endures to this day, although he received no formal awards, given the historical context.
