Synopsis "Quieto (in Spanish)"

Quieto cubre siete años en la vida de nuestro hijo Lluís Serra Pablo, alias Llullu, que nació con una grave encefalopatía, escribe el autor. La terminología médica dice «encefalopatía no filiada», el lenguaje popular «parálisis cerebral» y el lenguaje administrativo «discapacitado con grado de disminución del 85%». En casa, todas estas etiquetas cuentan poco. Lluís es nuestro segundo hijo. En Quieto he buscado explicar el ambivalente estado emocional que provoca tener un hijo que no progresa adecuadamente. Me ha parecido que la mejor manera de hacerlo era rescatar escenas fijadas en la memoria. Dorian Gray vendió su alma al diablo para poder ser, más que inmortal, invariable, mientras los estragos del tiempo iban modificando el retrato que había escondido en el sótano. Aquí se invierte el proceso. Nuestro hijo y todos los que son como él actúan de espejos. Todos los que nos miramos en ellos envejecemos de un modo distinto. Si Dorian Gray hubiese conocido a un Llullu habría aprendido a mirar en vez de querer ser mirado. A envejecer.
