In seinen Reiseerinnerungen zeichnet er ein Bild des russisch-jüdischen Lebens, er lernte die Centralpunkte der russischen Kirche kennen und hatte die Gelegenheit auf den Kolonien Südru lands, wie in St. Petersburg und den Ostseeprovinzen das evangelische Leben und Streben zu studieren. Ferdinand Wilhelm Weber lebte von 1836 - 1879. Dieses Buch ist eine sorgfältige Nachbearbeitung des Originals aus dem Jahr 1873.
