Synopsis "Ruhestand (in German)"

Der Eintritt in den Ruhestand stellt Bankdirektor August Friedrich Geldern vor ungeahnte Probleme. Seine Frau wird rebellisch. Mit dem sehnlich erwarteten Enkel umzugehen, muss er erst mühsam lernen. Ausflüge in den Seniorensport scheitern an Hundegebell und mangelndem Teamgeist. Klaus Peter, der Schwiegersohn, ärgert ihn mit kunstsinniger Lebensfremdheit, und die von ihm vermittelte Beschäftigung im Museum führt in geheimnisvolle Tiefen. Im Skulpturendepot treibt ein unbekannter Pinsel-Attentäter sein Unwesen. Dort begegnet August Geldern auch dem Tod, von dem er glaubt, dass er dem alten Menschen die Würde zurückgibt.
