Una mujer hermosa e ingenua que embauca con destreza a altos ejecutivos, un pintor habitado por fuerzas misteriosas y un sacerdote que se enfrenta a un caso de posesión son los personajes que se entretejen en torno a la vida de Campo Elías, héroe de la guerra de Vietnam y asesino, quien inicia su particular descenso a los infiernos obsesionado por la dualidad entre el bien y el mal, entre Jekyll y Hyde, y se convertirá en un ángel exterminador. Ganadora del Premio Biblioteca Breve 2002, Satanás es una novela sobre la oscura presencia del mal en la vida cotidiana. El telón de fondo es un paisaje roto, el de Colombia, y una ciudad, Bogotá, por cuyas calles van y vienen, de forma errática y condenados a expiar una interminable culpa, los personajes de este inquietante relato, en el que escenas conmovedoras se mezclan con otras de descarnada violencia.

Born in Bogotá in 1964. With the short story book La travesía del vidente, published by Planeta, he won the National Literature Prize from the District Institute of Culture and Tourism of Bogotá in 1995. In 2002, he won the Biblioteca Breve award from Seix Barral with the novel Satanás. In 2004, he published the short story book Una escalera al cielo. He has published the novels La ciudad de los umbrales (1992), Scorpio City (1998), Relato de un asesino (2001), Cobro de sangre (2004), Los hombres invisibles (2007), Buda Blues (2009), Apocalipsis (2011), Lady Masacre (2013), and La melancolía de los feos (2016); and the essays La locura de nuestro tiempo (2010), La importancia de morir a tiempo (2012), and Paranormal Colombia (2014).
