Synopsis "Showcasing Orwell"

The works of Orwell are many times criticized for being anti- utopian, full of pessimism, gloominess and ensuring a life with no hope in future. But a deeper study of his works show the other side of the picture. His works are a showcase of the society and about a generation indicating its movement and direction. It is the wave in the society which Orwell has projected and connecting it to a thought which has a concept of negative motivation . The books are open ended wherein inspite of a chosen ending still the choice lies with the reader as to in which direction should he sail if he wants the result otherwise. The undercurrent of his thought process, of reading between the lines are also very clearly evident. He faced the charges of being anti -utopian writer who gives no hope to his readers and fills their heart with pessimism; someone who shows the readers a world of despair and nothing else. Whereas, the case is not as it appears. The two novels ANIMAL FARM & NINETEEN EIGHTY FOUR truly stand true to the times and reflect the currents of the political and social scenario. It indicates through negative picture frames as to where the future lies.
