Snakes Shoes - Gideon Sterer

For fans of Giraffes Can't Dance and Mr. Tiger Goes Wild, a creative snake insists that a shoe can be anything—and anyone can wear them!

It’s Snake’s birthday, and he’s excited to buy himself a gift—and what a marvelous gift he finds! But what is it? A planter? A bowl? A helmet?

The shopkeeper and customers try to explain that it's a shoe, and furthermore, that shoes are not for someone like him. But Snake carefully, calmly, and confidently disagrees. Will the other animals be able to change their thinking? Perhaps a birthday party full of surprising objects and ideas—and a ton of dancing—is just what everyone needs to celebrate their new perspective.

Written by a New York Times bestselling author and illustrated with colorful cut-paper art by a Caldecott Honor winner, this story about wearing whatever you want (however you want) will delight and encourage young readers to think for themselves.
