Synopsis "Still Becoming"

What if the strengths that helped you build a life could grow with you?In Still Becoming, educator and mother Divanny Rodriguez Lugo examines the habits behind being the dependable one: carrying responsibility, relying on herself, correcting misunderstandings, working for recognition, and finding it difficult to receive care.Through personal reflection, educator observation, and developmental research, she explores what happens when useful strengths become rigid rules. Gratitude can begin to feel like debt. Independence can make asking for help feel dangerous. Love can bring the challenge of remaining close while respecting another person's freedom.Across twelve chapters, she considers anger without humiliation, faith without forced certainty, motherhood without ownership, and partnership without disappearing. Her question is not how to erase the woman she became, but how to preserve what matters while changing the methods around it.This is an account of recognition and emerging practice, with room for uncertainty, mistakes, and repair. For readers who are used to holding everything together, it offers a thoughtful companion to learning that softness does not require surrender.
