Michio Kaku es un físico teórico, futurista y divulgador científico estadounidense, conocido por su trabajo en la teoría de cuerdas y por su capacidad para explicar conceptos complejos de la física al público general. Nació el 24 de enero de 1947 en San José, California, en una familia de origen japonés. Estudió en la Harvard University, donde se graduó en Física, y obtuvo su doctorado en la University of California, Berkeley.

Es profesor de física teórica en el City College of New York, donde ha desarrollado investigaciones en el marco de la teoría de campos y la teoría de cuerdas, una de las principales candidatas para unificar la física cuántica con la relatividad general.

No es un buen libro científico. El autor especula demasiado sobre los alcances de la cuántica y no incluye referencias para sus postulados. No lo recomiendo si no se sabe del tema, confunde a gente no allegada a la ciencia, porque es muy difícil establecer qué es pura especulación fantástica y cuáles son los verdaderos alcances que tiene esta tecnología. Los científicos que divulgamos ciencia tenemos la responsabilidad de enseñarla sin confundir ni incluir nuestras opiniones basadas en nada. ¡La ciencia no es especulación! A los interesados, les recomiendo los libros de Richard P. Feynman, el mejor divulgador en temas de física hasta el día de hoy. No compré este libro por buscalibre sino en la feria del libro de mi ciudad, y me dejó muy triste y decepcionada como científica.
