This book titled "Sustainable Disease Management of Agricultural Crops" is based on plant disease management by means of sustainable manner. In developing country, sustainable Agriculture is to maintain food production or more realistically, to maintain an increasing trend in food grain production while preserving the underlying resource base. This book will give broader sense of sustainability which can be defined as "maintaining an increasing production trend to ensure food security with future dimensions". Adequate food grain production and ensuring an equitable distribution is a global concern in present scenario. The continued growth of agricultural sector should not be at the cost of soil, plant and environment. Plant diseases have been of great concern to the Indian Agriculture. The multiplicity of crops, tropical and sub-tropical climate, over lapping growing seasons, different varieties, production system and varying cultural practices favour the occurrence of number of plant diseases. The changed agricultural scenario has to focus our attention to check plant diseases, cut crop losses, avoid wide fluctuation in production and sustain higher levels of productivity. The book contains adequate sustainable eco-friendly disease management information related to disease rsistance, integrated disease management, soil solarisation, transgenic crop, organic disease management and biopesticides in disease management biological control, use of bacteriophage in disease management, important mushroom diseases and their management etc. The chapters are devoted to the management of major diseases of vegetables, cereals, medicinal plants, pulses and fiber crops.
