They become poetry.Taze is a poetic reckoning with belonging, womanhood, motherhood, love, disillusionment, migration, identity, and renewal.Structured like an unconventional case file through sections of Statement, Witness, Record, and Trace, Selin Senol Akin moves through the invisible trials of her own past and of human relationships-at times taking the stand, at times observing from a distance, and at times quietly turning the questions toward the reader.Moving between Turkish and American cultures, past and present, staying and leaving, loving and letting go, Taze blends melancholy, wit, social observation, and intimate reflection. This is not a collection about healing perfectly. It is about transformation...and the realization that sometimes we renew/refresh ourselves not by leaving the past behind, but by learning to see it differently. Because some things, no matter how much time passes, remain 'taze' (fresh).
