Synopsis "THE BIRDMAN COMETH"

"As flies are to wanton boys are we to the gods - they kill us for their sport."

- Shakespeare

Is Death a person? A force that moves through the world taking lives for sport? It seems thus to Ricardo, as he lies alone in a hospital bed in a foreign country, hoping that his doctors can save his life. He is plagued by a vision of a mysterious shaman coming to steal his soul.

Meanwhile outside the hospital, real forces are gathering around him: A duo of wannabe revolutionaries have mistaken Ricardo for an international arms dealer. They need to make a deal with him for weapons, and nothing will stand in their way.  At the same time, an over-ambitious hypnotist has opened a clinic in town that specializes in attracting young women... young women who end up dead.

Follow ex-detective Dan Landes as he tries to help his friend Ricardo unravel a lethal case of mistaken identity, while Ricardo tries to avoid death on the operating table, and a mysterious hypnotist needs to leave town quickly.

Robert Rahula, author of A Good Plague, Crime, and Stupidity Dust, brings us another Dan Landes Mystery, full of twists, political commentary, human weaknesses... and murder.
