Synopsis "The Clearing Rain"

Constable Lacey Carmichael moved to the island of Tasmania in a bid to outrun her demons. And she seems to be doing just that with the help of her handsome detective, Nico Favreau and a close-knit community in which she is finally finding her place. However, when a young woman is discovered dead at the side an isolated road, she becomes embroiled in a dangerous mystery that draws her into a web of lies. Nico believes he and Lacey have finally overcome the obstacles in their path toward happiness. But he still worries about her safety every day that she goes out on the beat, and her stubborn intent to follow up this new murder is trying his patience to the limit. They have no witnesses and no leads - until another young woman is found wandering along the same road two days later, claiming to be the victim's best friend. There are tell-tale signs that this could be another target of the elusive serial killer they've been hunting for the past year. Is this a copycat, or is the killer baiting them by setting a trap? Lacey ignores Nico's command that she stay safely at home and goes out on her own to track down a clue, putting her directly in the killer's path. Nico is desperate to find her before it's too late. But to have the happy future they deserve, Nico will have to save her from the terror of his past.
