The Dream Analyst and the Preacher is the second in a series called "Dream Analyst Novels." It is a continuation of The Dream Analyst and the Teacher, which tells the background story about the main character of all of the novels, psychotherapist and dream analyst, Dr. Laura Christopher. In The Dream Analyst and the Preacher, Laura is writing a book about the metaphysical meanings of the parables from the Bible. She wants to compare them with the traditional interpretations. Seeing in the newspaper that a preacher will be doing a series of talks about the parables, she goes to his church. Her life is drawn into that of the preacher, his wife and others, as dreams and parables are interpreted. All of the dreams in these novels are real, and they are authentically interpreted in relationship to the characters in the story.
