TOM NEVER REALISED PEOPLE COULD BE SO CRUEL.A young boy goes missing from the coastal town of Walvis Bay in Namibia.Tom, on holiday with his wife, Rose, has to return home because of business commitments and cadges a lift on a United Nation's Aid plane. He hadn't counted on tragedy. Sniffer dogs search for the boy, but it's only when the forensic report is read, so the police interviews, of the parents, become more robust.Is the boy found? Does Tom survive and is he saved?********Dear reader, I include social issues in all my novels. There is either just a sprinkling spread through the books or, as in the case of Shades of Despair the issue of forced marriage is very evident for much of the book. In this latest book, The Fear Factor, the social issue is in the last third of the manuscript. I can't say that I enjoyed writing about it, but enslavement in all its forms is prevalent probably in 95% of countries and it is only by bringing the dreadful agonies to the surface, that we can try, en masse, to eliminate such cruelty. I must say, tears do come to my eyes when I research the various subjects and this book, The Fear Factor, was no exception. I read numerous technical papers on this subject by highly qualified medics - physicians and psychologists. If my voice just stops a little cruelty, it follows my writing has been well worth the silent world that comes with putting pen to paper. Yours sincerely, Alexandra Lenz
