The Laverys - Patricia O’Reilly

John and Hazel Lavery lived a life of dazzling splendour set against the backdrop of a restless, modern world.

Theirs was a partnership shaped by love, talent, and charisma. He painted royalty. She was London’s leading socialite. Together they played a significant role in shaping the politics of Ireland’s emerging State.

’Historical fiction of the finest calibre....An effortless weaving of fact and fiction ...O’Reilly writes of the Laverys as beautifully as John painted Hazel,’ Niamh Boyce - Author of ’Her Kind’: Ireland’s First Witch Trial.’

’Brings to vivid life the relationship between two fascinating people who made their mark on the artistic and political worlds of their day,’ Arthur Mathews - Author of ’Walled In by Hate - Kevin O’Higgins, his Friends and Enemies.’

’Patricia O’Reilly’s magnetic writing invites us into the world of The Laverys. It’s a great read,’ Ciarán Donnelly (TV Writer/Director.)
