So he pulls Jed, Cotton and Mordecai into it, and tempts the captain of the guard, McVey, into helping them. Modesto has got important connections outside the prison, and through his lawyer, the financial means to pay for his plan. But first they need to get Jed into the warden's office. After that, it's just a matter of finding a helicopter pilot desperate enough to fly into the prison's courtyard. The plan is timed to precision. What they don't figure on is Palmer, the snitch, who rooms with Cotton. Or the warden's pregnant wife, who is lunching with her husband that day. But it's too late now-the plan is set into motion...
