Synopsis "The Split"

When Democracy crumbles and the United States erupts into its second Civil War, one mother will do whatever it takes to protect her children. In quiet Watertown, South Dakota, Sara Weiderholt is a middle-aged mom trying to keep normalcy amidst chaos. But when Sara's seventeen-year-old son dies fighting in the south, she begins to lose herself. When her youngest child is drafted, she cracks. Kidnapping her two daughters, Sara flees to her hometown of Paradise in northern Michigan. But things in Paradise are not what they seem, forcing them to find a way to Canada. But with her dangerous husband tracking them and bounty hunters looking to make money off AWOL soldiers, will they live to see freedom?
