Synopsis "The Witches "

From the World's No. 1 Storyteller, The Witches is a children's classic that has captured young reader's imaginations for generations. Now a major motion picture! This is not a fairy tale. This is about real witches. Grandmamma loves to tell about witches. Real witches are the most dangerous of all living creatures on earth. There's nothing they hate so much as children, and they work all kinds of terrifying spells to get rid of them. Her grandson listens closely to Grandmamma's stories--but nothing can prepare him for the day he comes face-to-face with The Grand High Witch herself! This edition of The Witches has a special glow-in-the-dark cover.

(Wales, 1916 - Oxford, 1990) Roald was born into a wealthy family of Norwegian origin. At the age of four, he lost his father and at seven, he came into contact with the strict British educational system, which he reflected in books like Matilda and Boy. After finishing high school, he started working at the Shell company in Africa, where he was caught by the Second World War. After brief training, he became a pilot for the Royal Air Force. He was assigned to Washington, where he began writing about his war adventures. His foray into the world of children's literature was motivated by the stories he told his four children. His first work was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. He also wrote scripts for movies and some of his works have been adapted into films.
