Synopsis "This Is Me"

This Is Me is the inspiring true story of the author, Mirella Algorri, a Dominican woman who learned early in life that poverty could limit her circumstances, but not her dreams. From a childhood spent walking barefoot in the countryside of the Dominican Republic to becoming an educator in the United States, Mirella’s journey is one of perseverance, faith, reinvention, and determination. Along the way, she faced hunger, loss, immigration, professional setbacks, and the challenge of starting over more than once—yet she continued moving forward. More than a memoir, This Is Me is an invitation to believe in yourself, embrace your dreams, and find the courage to keep going when life changes your plans. Mirella’s message is simple: your beginnings do not have to determine your destination.
