Synopsis "Thornberry Manor: The Ruby"

Restoration of Thornberry Manor is well underway. Workmen in a myriad of trades are coming and going, bringing Thornberry up to code and ready for its eventual role as a vacation/retreat destination. Finlay installs locks on the bookcase doors to protect the valuable, rare collection of books-one in particular is of great value to Paisley. When she considers telling Finlay about the necklace, a voice warns her to keep it secret-her mum is the only one who knows. Paisley and her mum explore the cemetery at Thornberry, trying to match up names and histories with the genealogy site Molly has subscribed to. For some reason, Paisley avoids learning the death date of Henry Hix, her 19th century relative. On a rare, solo day at Thornberry, Paisley puts on the ruby necklace and is transported back in time, arriving 29 years later than her first visit. She meets up with relatives who are adults now and see her in a different light. She also meets Granville Webster, the fascinating resident of Greystorm, whose estate borders Thornberry Manor. The ruby (like the emerald) is in crumbs when she reluctantly returns to the present. Is it a warning to stop time-traveling?
