Marjan Kamali es una escritora iraní-estadounidense nacida en Turquía en 1971. Su vida ha estado marcada por una constante movilidad geográfica; pasó su infancia en varios países, incluyendo Irán, Alemania, Kenia y los Estados Unidos.
