Esta extraordinaria obra se divide en dos partes: la primera de ellas expone un extenso diálogo donde se tratan temas políticos, filosóficos y sociales, mientras que en la segunda descubrimos una pormenorizada descripción de Utopía, una isla imaginaria que representaría una sociedad ideal, perfecta, y hasta cierto punto inalcanzable, ya que contendría proyectos, doctrinas y sistemas muy deseables y favorecedores que parecen de muy difícil realización. Una organización muy evolucionada que nada tiene que ver con la época que vivió Tomás Moro —ni con la actual—, con ideas y pensamientos rompedores que no desean establecer de ninguna manera cómo se debería vivir, sino que critica abiertamente la sociedad y el sistema político renacentista y, por ende, casi cualquier sistema político de siglos anteriores y posteriores.
Un libro poliédrico, casi infinito, que tiene tantos significados como lectores, ya que cada uno de nosotros extrae de él una y mil reflexiones subjetivas para mejorar como entes sociales. Imprescindible.

Poet, novelist, playwright, scientist, and German politician. At the University of Strasbourg, he met Herder, who introduced him to the works of Shakespeare and whom he later helped to create the German Romantic movement Sturm und Drang. In 1775, Charles Augustus, heir to the Duchy of Saxe-Weimar, invited Goethe to live and work in Weimar, which was then one of the intellectual and literary centers of Germany. There, he developed a brilliant political career which he eventually abandoned to dedicate himself to traveling and writing. He is one of the greatest literary exponents of Romanticism and for many the most important writer in German literature.

Lamentable que, para este libro de Mestas Ediciones, presenten como autor de Utopía a J. W. Goethe, cuando, en realidad, su autor es Tomás Moro. Tengan más cuidado, por favor.
