Esta obra tem por objetivo investigar as diversas maneiras como o trabalho, a sociabilidade e a vida no campo foram experimentados pelos homens e mulheres que viveram da agropecuária de subsist ªncia no distrito do Itaiacoca, município de Ponta Grossa (PR), entre os anos de 1970 e 2014, período em que importantes transforma § µes sociais incorreram sobre os pequenos e médios agropecuaristas daquele distrito. Trata dos aspectos da constitui § úo do meio rural paranaense entre as décadas de 1970 e 1990, permitindo entender os processos históricos experimentados por aqueles trabalhadores e procurando analisar quest µes pertinentes ás experi ªncias, identidades e memórias dessas pessoas. Discute os sentidos construídos por esses sujeitos históricos, sobre o viver, o trabalhar e o morar no distrito do Itaiacoca, bem como sobre o que pensam significar o ser itaiacocano, dialogando com as memórias que emergem sobre o processo pesquisado.
