تحت عباءتها التقليديّة، ترتدي وجدة سروال الجينز وحذاء الكونفرس. في غرفتها، تستمع خلسةً إلى أغاني الروك والبوب الغربيّة. أمّا في أحلامها فترى نفسها تسابق الريح على الدرّاجة الهوائيّة كما يفعل صديقها عبدالله. صحيح أنّ هذا الحلم صعب المنال، لأنَّ ركوب الدرّاجات غير مسموح للفتيات في ديارها، لكنَّ وجدة المتمرّدة مستعدّة لفعل أيّ شيء في سبيل تحقيقه. سلاحها شجاعتها وحنكتها وحيلُها التي تفضي إلى مواقف حرجة لا تخلو من الطرافة. Underneath her traditional abaya, Wadjda wears jeans and Converse shoes. In her room, she secretly listens to Western rock and pop songs. She sees herself racing the wind on a bicycle in her dreams, just like her friend Abdullah does. Yet this dream is difficult to attain, as riding bicycles is not allowed for girls in her homeland, but rebellious Wadjda is willing to do anything to make it happen. Her weapons are her courage, wit, and cleverness, which lead her to awkward yet humorous situations.
