Clive Baker was born on October 5, 1952, in Penny Lane, Liverpool. He is a writer, film director, illustrator, and painter. Author in the horror and fantasy genre. He studied English and Philosophy at the University of Liverpool. He is one of the most acclaimed in his field. He is known for the "Books of Blood" series and its film adaptations (Hellraiser and Nightbreed).

In addition to his renowned literary facet, he has stood out as a great illustrator, director, and screenwriter, being the creator of films like Hellraiser and Candyman. He also has numerous adaptations of his work into comics. He collaborated with Marvel Comics in creating his own publishing imprint called Razorline, which was short-lived.
