Synopsis "Yr Ogof"

(New edition of T. Rowland Hughes's classic take on the Crucifixion)Sylwodd Beniwda hefyd ar eiddgarwch y bobl; yr oeddynt, yn amlwg, yn hanner-addoli'r dyn. Efallai fod Dan yn ei le, wedi'r cwbl. A hwn yn arwain y pererinion a Thera ar flaen ei filwyr, beth fyddai tri neu bedwar cant o Rufeinwyr? Ond ai rhyddhau'r genedl oedd ei nod?Er bod bywyd Joseff yn Jwdea yn y ganrif gyntaf yn ddigon cyfforddus, mae ganddo'i bryderon. Mae ar ei wraig, Esther, eisiau iddo fagu mwy o uchelgais, mae ei ferch Rwth braidd yn rhy gyfeillgar gyda chanwriad Rhufeinig, ac mae'n poeni am weithgaredd gwleidyddol ei fab. Pan aiff Joseff i Jerusalem at y Pasg a gweld cyfle i ymddyrchafu, caiff ei dynnu i rwyd a fydd yn ei wneud yn rhan o ddigwyddiadau mwy nag a feddyliodd erioed.Daeth T. Rowland Hughes yn enwog fel awdur nofelau'n ymdrin â bro chwarelyddol gogledd Cymru; roedd ei droad at ddeunydd Beiblaidd a hanesyddol gyda'i drydedd nofel, Yr Ogof, yn droad annisgwyl, ond un a weddai'n berffaith at ddoniau llenyddol awdur Cymraeg mwyaf poblogaidd ei oes.
