Alex Herrera Araya
Alex Herrera Araya, who uses the pseudonym Greco Aduren in poetry, is a writer, poet, and illustrator from the city of Santa Cruz. He holds a degree in Clinical Psychology and a bachelor's degree from the University of Talca, a master's in Education with a specialization in Educational Guidance, a postgraduate degree in Curricular Management, a diploma in Child and Adolescent Psychology, a diploma in Mediation and School Coexistence, and a diploma in Competency-Based Learning. Alex has worked at the University of Talca Campus Colchagua and in various educational institutions.
He published his first poetry collection in 2013, titled Natural Freedom. In 2014, he was the illustrator, editor, and designer for the book Almatinta, the least expected, a youth poetry anthology. In 2015, he published his second book, titled The mist overflows the path. In 2016, he was a collaborator, illustrator, and editor of the psychology book What's wrong with Maria? Four effective psychotherapeutic tools, by author Marcelo Leiva Bianchi. In 2017, he wrote the lyrics for the work When the flower becomes fruit, alongside the musical composer José Satelices Ormazábal. The work pays tribute to the land of Colchagua. In 2022, the author published the novel “XLP” the parallel world of a deranged, a book that has been praised by specialized critics, addressing issues such as social criticism, anime, pop culture, and the avant-garde Chilean context. Additionally, the writer is featured in various Chilean and Latin American anthologies.
Alex has conducted a series of workshops aimed at motivating children and young people to read and write. Regarding illustrations, some of his drawings have been included in various books of literary and academic nature.
