Antonio Sitges Serra
Antonio Sitges Serra (Barcelona, 1951) is a professor of surgery at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and a prominent specialist in endocrine surgery. He was the head of the Surgery Department at Hospital del Mar, where he promoted clinical research and directed the first doctoral theses in his field. He has presided over the Societat Catalana de Cirurgia and various European scientific societies, such as the European Society of Endocrine Surgeons, of which he was a founding member. With more than 400 scientific articles and nearly 100 book chapters published, he is also the author of works like "Si puede, no vaya al médico" (2020) and "El perímetro del congreso" (2006). In addition to his medical career, he has collaborated with El Periódico (1997-2017) and is a founding member of Federalistes d’Esquerres. In 1998, he received the Premi Miquel Martí i Pol for his poetry collection "Amor Roig".
