Arkadi Strugatski
Russian writer and philologist, Arkadi Strugatski (1925-1991) is internationally known for his work dedicated to science fiction, written together with his brother Boris, which was a great success in the Soviet Union

Arkadi was born in Batumi in 1925 and later moved to Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg). In 1942, he was evacuated from the besieged city with his father. It would be in 1949 when he graduated from the Military Institute of Foreign Languages; more than a decade later his first novel was published

His most famous book is Roadside Picnic (1977), a title that was later made into a film by Russian director Andrei Tarkovsky. His novel Hard to Be a God also had its film version, under the title The Power of a God

The production of the Strugatski brothers has been translated into numerous languages and published around the world, being considered of great richness despite the difficulties of its translation
