Brendan Powell Smith
Brendan Powell Smith, born on September 7, 1973, is an American author and artist known for creating The Brick Bible, a series that narrates biblical stories using LEGO® dioramas. Under the pseudonym Brendan Powell Smith, he has published numerous works, including The Brick Bible: A New Spin on the Old Testament (2011), The Brick Bible: The New Testament (2012), and The Brick Bible: The Complete Set (2013). These books are known for their meticulous LEGO® illustrations and have been translated into several languages. Additionally, he is the author of Assassination!: The Brick Chronicle of Attempts on the Lives of Twelve US Presidents (2013), which presents historical events through LEGO® scenes.
Although not religious, Smith has studied the Bible, early Christianity, and Judaism, aiming to make the scriptures accessible and appealing to a broad audience. His work is characterized by a unique combination of humor and poignancy, attracting both devout readers and skeptics.
