David Throsby
David Throsby is Distinguished Professor of Economics at Macquarie University in Sydney. He is internationally recognized for his research and numerous publications on the economics of art and culture. His interests include the economics of the performing arts, the role of artists as economic agents, the economics of indigenous art, the economics of heritage, the role of culture in sustainable development, and the relationships between economic and cultural policies. His book, "Economics and Culture" (Cambridge University Press, 2001), has been translated into eight languages. His most recent book is "The Economics of Cultural Policy" (2010), also published by Cambridge.
