Emily Habeck
Emily Habeck is an American author with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University and two master's degrees from Vanderbilt University. Her debut novel, Shark Heart: A Love Story (2023), is a contemporary fiction work that has been recognized as Editor's Choice by The New York Times Book Review, selected by Book of the Month, and nominated for the Goodreads Choice Award
The novel was also a finalist for Book of the Year and ranked first on the Indie Next list in August 2023. In 2024, Shark Heart was shortlisted for the Massachusetts Book Award and the Brooklyn Library Book Prize
