Esteban Mira Caballos, PhD in American History from the University of Seville, is a foreign corresponding member of the Dominican Academy of History (2004) and the Chilean Institute of Genealogical Research (2012). He is part of the editorial board of several scientific journals and is a cultural advisor for the Fundación Obra Pía de los Pizarro. He has collaborated in the historical consultancy for the second season of the Spanish-Mexican series Hernán, the man. He has also won numerous awards such as those from the Fundación Obra Pía de los Pizarro, Xavier de Salas, José María Pérez de Herrasti, and the Pedro Cieza de León for Historical Research.
He specializes in the relations between Spain and America in the 16th century, and his most recent books are: Francisco Pizarro: a new vision of the conquest of Peru (Crítica, 2018) and The Armadas of the Empire: power and hegemony in the time of the Austrias (2019)
