Javier Melloni
Javier Melloni Ribas (Barcelona, 1962) is a Jesuit, anthropologist, and Spanish theologian, known for his work in interreligious dialogue and comparative mysticism. With a degree in Cultural Anthropology and a PhD in Theology, he is a member of Cristianisme i Justícia and a professor at the Faculty of Theology of Catalonia and at the Institute of Fundamental Theology in Sant Cugat. He resides in the Cave of Saint Ignatius in Manresa, where he combines his teaching duties with spiritual guidance.
Among his most notable works are The Inner Christ (2010), The Essential Desire (2009), Voices of Mysticism (2009), Towards a Time of Synthesis (2011), and God without God (2015, co-authored with José Cobo). His literary output focuses on spiritual and theological essays, exploring Ignatian spirituality and promoting an integrative vision of different religious traditions.
