Jesús Martín Fernández
Jesús Martín-Fernández (Santa Cruz de La Palma, 1992) is a neurosurgeon and cognitive neuroscientist noted for his work in brain tumor surgery with awake patients. In February 2023, he performed at the Hospital del Mar in Barcelona the first surgery in Spain of a brain tumor in the right hemisphere with the patient awake, using a test based on artificial intelligence to identify and preserve the patient's emotions.
In addition to his medical work, Martín-Fernández is the author of the book "Tell Me What You Feel" (2023), where he recounts his experiences and advances in neurosurgery.
