Joe Hisaishi
He was born on December 6, 1950, in Nagano (Japan). He started violin lessons at the age of 4, discovering his passion for music. He is responsible for more than 100 soundtracks and conventional albums since 1981.
Throughout his career, he has become especially known for his work with animation film director Hayao Miyazaki, including soundtracks for Princess Mononoke (1997), Spirited Away (千と千尋の神隠し, Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi) (2002), and Howl's Moving Castle (ハウルの動く城, Hauru no Ugoku Shiro) (2004), among others. He is also known for his work with Takeshi Kitano (Kikujiro No Natsu 菊次郎の夏, Kikujiro's Summer) and performs other compositions, musical arrangements, and serves as a conductor.
