Lisa See
Lisa See (Paris, 1955) is a renowned American novelist of Chinese descent, raised in Los Angeles within a family with deep roots in the local Chinatown. Her work focuses on exploring Asian history and culture, especially Chinese, through a female perspective. Among her most notable novels are The Silk Fan (2005), The Peony Pavilion (2008), Shanghai Girls (2010), China Dolls (2015), and The Island of Sea Women (2020). Additionally, she is the author of the non-fiction work On Gold Mountain (1995), where she narrates her family's history.

Her main literary genre is historical fiction, distinguished by her meticulous research and the representation of Asian cultures, particularly Chinese and Korean. Although she has received accolades such as the "National Woman of the Year" award from the Organization of Chinese Americans in 2001 and the "History Makers Award" from the Chinese American Museum in 2003, she is not credited with internationally renowned literary awards.
