Louise Cooper (May 29, 1952 – October 21, 2009) was a prolific British writer of fantasy literature, known for her ability to create complex worlds and deep characters. Born in Hertfordshire, England, she showed a passion for writing from a young age, starting to draft stories for her friends at school. At 15, she left school to pursue her literary vocation. Her first novel was published when she was 20

In 1984, she achieved success with the Time Master trilogy, based on her novel Lord of No Time (1977). This series, which explores the conflict between the forces of Order and Chaos, solidified her reputation in the fantasy genre. Throughout her career, Cooper wrote over 80 novels, including other notable sagas such as Indigo and The Chaos Gate

In 1998, she moved to Cornwall with her husband, Cas Sandall, where she lived near the beach, which inspired many of her works. Besides writing, Cooper had hobbies like music, gardening, and surfing. She was an active member of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, a charity dedicated to sea rescue
