Marc S. Sabatine

Dr. Marc S. Sabatine is a prominent American cardiologist and clinical researcher. He currently serves as the chairman of the Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction (TIMI) Study Group at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) and holds the distinguished Lewis Dexter, MD, Chair in Cardiovascular Medicine at BWH. He is also a professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School (HMS)

He earned his bachelor's degree magna cum laude from Harvard College and his medical degree also magna cum laude from HMS. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his clinical fellowship in Cardiology at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), as well as a fellowship in cardiovascular research at BWH

Dr. Sabatine has led major international clinical trials on antithrombotic and lipid therapies. He is a pioneer in the multimarker approach to risk stratification and has conducted key research in pharmacogenetics, proteomics, and metabolomics. He has published over 200 articles in high-impact scientific journals, such as the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, and The Lancet

Among his accolades are the Zipes Distinguished Young Scientist Award from the American College of Cardiology and his membership in the American Society of Clinical Investigation
